Vacuum tubes.-A device for inserting additional valve stages in a radio set comprises a casing with prongs on its lower face for insertion into a triode valve socket, with valve-holders on its upper face to receive the additional valves, and with further sockets adapted to receive a a removable inter-valve coupling. The casing is shown in plan in Fig. 1, and the connections in Fig. 4. Of the prongs 1 - - 4, which are inserted in substitution for a valve of an existing set, the filament prongs 1, 2 are wired to the filament sockets 5, 6 and 9, 10 of the valve-holders, the grid prong 3 is connected to the grid socket 7 of the first added stage, and the plate prong 4 to the plate 12 of the second added stage. The first plate 8 and the second grid 11 are wired to sockets 14, 16 which, together with sockets 13, 15 for connection to high-tension and grid-bias sources, form a set of sockets into which a resistance-capacity or other inter-valve coupling unit may be plugged. The II.T. socket 13 is wired to a terminal 17, and the grid-bias socket 15 to a flexible connector 18 which may be plugged at will into sockets 19, 21, 22. The socket 19 is wired to a terminal 20 for the connection of a grid-bias battery, and the sockets 21, 22 are wired to opposite filament terminals.
