Impression adjustments.-To adjust the bearings b of a roller printing-machine, screw-and-nut mechanism is employed driven from a motor i through slip clutches m which prevent damage when the bearings reach their end positions. A number of cylinders may be actuated from one motor i, and the nut d or screw f may be the driven member. When the nut d is driven a locking member k normally prevents rotation of the screw f. To enable a fine adjustment of each cylinder, the locking members k may be released, and the screws f operated by hand. The motor i may be permanently geared to a number of bearing-adjusting devices, or may be provided with a flexible disconnectible drive for the bearings of the top cylinders of a machine.
