Abstract

325,398. Glenfield & Kennedy, Ltd., and Peebles, J. March 1, 1929. Liquid-meters.-Indicating-apparatus for use with telescopic weirs, particularly as applied to sand-bed filters, comprises a guide tube 1, Fig. 2, carried by the movable member 2 of the weir and housing a rod having a float 6 at the lower end. The upper end of the float rod projects through an adjustable cap 4, Fig. 3, and has a scale 8 indicating the head of water over the weir. The quantity of water flowing is indicated by a pointer 19 on a scale 20 carried by the tube 1, and the head under which the filter 12 is operating is indicated by pointers 7, 16 on a fixed scale 10.
