Abstract
324,756. Pearson, A. E. Dec. 7, 1928. Handles. - A carrying handle for cases, bags, &c., of the non-extensible resilient type is connected to the casing by loops 3, formed as integral parts of the flat spring-metal lining 1, which receive anchoring members 6, preferably of the form shown in Fig. 2 with a bridge 6<b> of circular section, rigidly attached to the casing. The inner end of each loop is preferably stepped at 5 to form a firm abutment for the bridge 6b. As a modification the loop 3 may be formed at one end only while the other loop merely pivots about the member 6. The handle may be covered with leather in the manner shown in Figs. 1 and 3, a. leather strip 2 completely embracing the core by being stitched down the edges at 8 but being cut away at 9 to allow free sliding in the bridge members.
