Abstract

324,156. Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., and Warren, T. R. Nov. 16, 1928. Drawings to Specification. Regulating delivery by varying speed and power of motor.-To maintain constant delivery pressure of motor-driven pumps, or like machines, a speed regulator for the driving motor is actuated by a reversible electric motor-with an intermittent current feed and reversing switches controlled by a pressure responsive device. The invention includes the provision of a group of pumps &c., discharging into a common delivery system, a separate driving motor for each pumping machine, regulated as above, and means for ensuring proper distribution of load between the separate machines. In the arrangement described the driving motors are electric motors of A.C. induction type in which the speed is varied by variation of rotor resistance.
