Abstract

324,120. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Oct. 19, 1928. Lakes or pigment dyestuffs are made from quinizarine disulphonic acids and anthraquinone- 1-hydroxy-4-aminodisulphonic acids by conversion into the corresponding aluminium compound. In examples, (1) a boiling aqueous solution of potassium quinizarine-2 : 6-disulphonate or quinizarine-2 :5-disulphonic acid and aluminium sulphate is precipitated with sodium carbonate; violet lakes are obtained. (2) A greenish-blue lake is made by precipitating an aqueous solution of potassium anthraquinone-1-hydroxy-4-amino- 2 :8-disulphonate with aluminium hydroxide. Quinizarine-2 : 5 and 2 : 6-disulphonic acids are made respectively from quinizarine-5-and 6- sulphonic acids by sulphonation in aqueous solution with sodium sulphite in presence of pyrolusite and boric acid. 1-Hydroxy - 4 - aminoanthraquinone - 2 : 8 - disulphonic acid is made from anthraquinone-1 : 8 hydroxysulphonic acid by consecutive sulphonation, nitration and reduction.
