Abstract

323,539. Searle, G. R. Oct. 4, 1928. Diaphragms. - A diaphragm is built up of two sheets of paper &c. spaced apart by a plurality of paper members to which the sheets are attached. The two sheets of paper 5, 6 are separated by radial paper strips 7, bent as in Fig. 4. A stiff paper tube 10, Fig. 3, passes through the centre of the diaphragm and its slit ends 11 are bent and attached to the two outer sheets 5, 6, to which other paper sheets 13 may be attached, their size decreasing outwards. The diaphragm is preferably clamped between rubber rings 14. The diaphragm may be formed of newspaper.
