Abstract

322,891. Pirelli General Cable Works, Ltd., and Harding, J. R. Dec. 10, 1928. Posts, attachments for; systems of supporting cables and conductors.-A pole top for supporting overhead electric conductors consists of a single length of metal bent into a parallel-sided loop, the end portions of the side members of which are bent to form sloping laterally extending arms with short horizontal ends, the top of the loop and the ends of the lateral arms carrying upright insulators. A loop A, the side members a of which are secured to a pole C by bolts D, has its ends bent to form sloping lateral members by terminating in short horizontal ends B. Holes F are made at the top of the loop and in the ends B to hold upright insulators E. The strip of metal forming the pole top is of channel section with the flanged portion directed inwards to the pole and the pole may extend part, e.g. half, of the way along the loop. The Provisional Specification states that the pole top may be made in two lengths bolted together at the top of the loop.
