Abstract

322,525. Mapson, R. L., and Greer, R. L. Sept. 7, 1928. Mechanical toys; rails.-A toy vehicle having mechanism adapted to steer the vehicle in a path substantially parallel to a guiding abutment, is provided with electrical propelling means. As shown, a toy vehicle propelled by a motor M through a worm gear 26, is steered by an arm E that projects from one of the stub axles 28 and bears at its free end against an abutment A. In a modification the arm E is pivoted to the running board of the vehicle and is connected to the stub axle by a link. The abutment comprises two rails 15, 16 of conducting material that are secured to insulating posts 17 by countersunk nails 18. Current from a battery is fed to the motor through rail 15 and wire 40, and returns through the chassis, the arm E and rail 16.
