Windscreens.-A motor vehicle windecreen of the kind which is hinged along its upper edge. is adapted to be swung about either its upper edge or its lower edge, so that either a bottom or a top opening may be obtained. The screen a is hinged at its upper edge to a pair of vertical supports b which are themselves hinged at their lower ends to the body work of the vehicle. By rocking the supports about their lower ends, ventilation may be obtained over the top edge of the screen, and the amount limited by hinged links c. The opening may be protected against rain by a vizor d or the overhang e of the roof. Bottom ventilation is obtained by swinging the screen about its upper edge, Fig. 3, and holding it in the desired position by struts g connected to bolts sliding in the supports b and adapted to be clamped thereto by hand nuts h. To hold the screen more securely at intermediate and nearly closed positions, an arm i is provided having notches on its edge adapted to be engaged by the circular periphery of nuts h. A flat portion on the nut permits of disengagement. To prevent slamming of the screen, springs k are provided in each support b and serve as cushions for the parts f. Finger rings are provided at l.
