Cores, covering by winding.-A machine for winding two or more layers of type or like material on to a core such as an electrical conductor, and of the type wherein the core passes axially through each of the rolls of covering material, is provided with means for adjusting axially any one of the covering or tapering heads. In one form each taping head 1 is mounted upon a saddle 2 slidable axially of the core upon the machine bed 3, and a pinion secured upon the saddle 2 engages a rack 4 upon the machine bed. In a modification, the rack and pinion are replaced by a screwthreaded shaft and nut. Specification 313,674 is referred to.
