Emulsions, making.-An aqueous emulsion of artificial or natural asphalt, pitch, tar and the like is prepared with the aid of colloidal clay containing a small quantity of magnesium oxide or hydrate. Suitable proportions are 100 parts water, 95 parts bitumen, 5 parts clay and ¢ part magnesium compound. Specification 105,202, [Class 22, Cements &c.], is referred to.
