Abstract

320,920. Bentall, E. E., and Bingham, G. C. July 18, 1928. Husking.-Apparatus for shelling ground nuts- or other nuts and beans consists of a horizontally journaled rotating drum with a solid concave cover associated with the downward travelling side thereof, both the drum and the concave surface being provided with irregular facings of rubber or like material, with a curved passage between the drum and the cover down the whole length of which the nuts to be shelled are passed. The nuts are fed from a hopper G to the passage between a drum A and a solid cover C adjustable by the screw D, the drum and the cover being provided with rubber projections E held in place by tubular bars F fixed by screws f. Modified. forms of the rubber facings may be employed.
