Abstract

318,531. Dreaper, W. P. June 5, 1928. Yarns and threads; processes.-A, composite or doubled and twisted yarn is produced by passing two or more yarns or strands, at least one of which must be a twisted strand, from suitable collecting units over a godet or similar speed regulating device through a funnel guide into a centrifugal spinning box, the composite yarn being subsequently wound off the cabe so formed. The second yarn may be untwisted or of opposite twist to the first. The strands forming the composite yarn may be viscose or other artificial silk, natural silk, cotton, linen or staple fibre, while the yarns may be treated with a sizing liquid before or after reaching the godet.. The cake of doubled yarn may be sized or bleached after removal from the centrifugal box. Additional twist may be put on the single yarns as they pass to the godet and the composite yarn is wound off the centrifugal cake with or without additional twisting.
