Records, combined phonographic and kinematographic; optical records.-Relates to the production of associated kinematograph and soundrecord films. According to the invention, a negative kinematograph picture and a photographic sound record are made by exposing separate films and then developing them conjointly, using a carrying device which engages both films and moves them together through the developing bath. The carrier consists of a drum having one or more rows of pins upon it. These may be arranged helically so as to engage in the perforations in the edges of the films when the latter are wound side by side around the drum. As shown in Fig. 1, the picture film 1 may slightly overlap the sound-film 3, (on which the sound-trace 4 is arranged centrally), the perforations in the overlapping edges engaging with the same pins on the drum. Alternatively, the two films may be connected together end to end before being applied to the developing drum. A positive combination record may be made by printing the conjointly developed negatives upon a single film.
