Abstract
318,121. Fulton, O. April 28, 1928. Synchronous movements.-In a copying- telegraph, in which a transmitter has a rotating drum carrying the picture and exploring apparatus and which moves axially relatively to the drum and produces signals in accordance with the tone values of the picture, and a receiver has a drum Z on which the picture is traced by recording- means S, the receiving-drum is synchronized once in every revolution by a signal from the transmitter of the same kind, and conducted over the same channel, as the picture signals. The signals are applied to a detecting or amplifying thermionic valve V, and, when signal current flows in the anode circuit, a relay R closes contacts K to energize an electromagnet H the armature of which is then withdrawn from a catch on the drum.
