Abstract

317,963. Lightalloys, Ltd., and Grieve, W. H. July 19, 1928. Louvre ventilators. -A metal louvre ventilator comprises a frame 1, a plurality of louvre strips 3, and shugs 2 adapted to support the louvres in such manner that each snug serves as a support for the ends of two adjacent louvres. The snugs 2 may be formed integrally with the frame 1 and the louvres 3 are secured to the shugs 2 by means of rivets, bolts, &c. The upper edges of the louvres may be turned inwardly as at 6, Fig. 4. and the ends of the louvres may have downward extensions 7 which prevent rain water from accumulating at such parts. The frame 1, snugs 2, and louvres 3 may be formed separately, the snugs being in the form of spacing-blocks furnished on their top and bottom fuses with projections 8, Fig. 5, for entering apertures 9 in the louvres 3. The louvres and spacing-blocks are arranged to slide in channels formed in the frame 1. If desired, each louvre 3 may be formed integrally with a snug 2 at each side of the frame.
