Abstract

316,602. Steen, L. May 1, 1928. Animal traps.-In a cage trap having vertically movable wheels so that the base of the trap may rest on the ground after transport, the axle of each wheel is secured to a slide 2a which is operated by a screw 7 working in a bearing 8<a> fixed to the trap. Alternatively, the screw may work in the slide and be rotatably mounted in the bearing. The screws may be simultaneously actuated through bevel gearing driven by shafts 11, which are mounted on each side of the trap and are driven by a manually actuated shaft 15. The door 17 is opened from the rear by a cord 21 which lifts the latches 19 allowing a spring to act, and is closed by the release of a weight 25 owing to movement of the platform 22.
