Abstract

Pressure gauges.- Indicating or recording mechanism for a differential pressure gauge comprises a cam and a loaded band device which is so arranged that the loading on the band can be altered by simply shifting a weight or altering the zero tension of a spring. The low and high pressure pipes U, D are connected as shown to the liquid containers A, B of a tilting manometer pivoting about a fulcrum P. Fixed to the tilting frame is a pointer Z and also a cam C attached to which is a band L which passes around the cam and also around a cylindrical piece CA on a lever moving about a pivot X and carrying an adjustable weight W. By moving the weight W along the lever the head corresponding to the flow can be altered. The centre of gravity of the tilting system can be adjusted by means of weights WH and WV. In a modification the band passes over a pulley to a spring the tension of which can be adjusted. In another modification the band passes over a cylindrical abutment on the lever and is attached to the lever, a second band also attached to the lever passing over a similar abutment to an adjustable spring.
