Abstract

313,367. Knab, J. Aug. 21, 1928. Anti-dazzle screens.-In a motor vehicle having a fixed visor or rainguard 2 which may form an integral extension of the roof 9, the screening effect is adapted to be varied by the provision of a movable extension part 4 slidable relatively to the fixed part 2. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, adjustment of the part 4 is effected by means of a spring blade 6 attached at one end to the extension 4 and provided at the other end with a cursor 12 slidable in a slotted U-shaped bracket 8 secured on the under side of the roof 9. The extension 4 is hinged about pivots 5, and preferably has side portions 4a co-operating with side portions 2<a> of the visor 2. In a modification, Fig. 5, the adjusting means comprises a screw threaded rod 14 passing through a ball member 18 which is mounted in a bracket carried by a vertical wall 1 at the front of the hood 9.
