Abstract
313,264. Waldrich Ges., H. A., and Eyermann, P. April 20, 1928. Castings.-To remove defective metal from ingots &c. not having a circular cross section these have the surface removed while cold by a lathe, grinding or milling machine, &c. adapted to produce a non-circular form and in which the work rotates or the tool rotates about the work axis or both. Preferably the machine is arranged to cut away the surface to a constant depth generally but to cut more deeply at the corners. The ingot is then rolled or forged to the desired form.
