Abstract
312,924. La Corsa, L. Ughetti-. June 2, 1928, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Stannous chloride.-In the recoverv of tin from tin plate scrap by means of hydrochloric acid or a chloride solution such as stannic or ferric chloride, the solution in use is regenerated continuously or intermittently by the addition of an oxyacid of chlorine such as chloric or perchloric acids, or salts thereof, with or without hydrochloric acid. The sodium, potassium, barium and calcium salts of the oxyacids are referred to. Solutions having a high content of tin, say 5-15 per cent, may thus be obtained from which tin may be recovered as by electrolysis. Pretreatment of the scraps may comprise cleaning in caustic potash, followed by immersion in hydrochloric acid.
