Abstract

312,898. Pels, H. Dec. 31, 1928. Shear-blades for cutting bars of various crosssections are shaped to have a mutual clearance e<1>, e<2>, e<3> proportional to the thickness h<1>, h<2>, h<3> of the metal to be cut. The bar is arranged at a slight angle as shown in Fig. 2 since the cut occurs along the plane S and a square cut thus results without burrs. Blades for hexagonal, circular and winged bars are also illustrated.
