Abstract

311,984. Lake, A. E. July 21, 1928. Couplings for tractors.-A single structural unit adapted to be fitted to the chassis of a motor lorry for raising and towing a disabled vehicle comprises a luffing jib crane constructed and arranged so as not to interfere with the use of the vehicle for transport. When towing a disabled vehicle, the crane hook is engaged with the tail-board 64, or with a steadying bar 65 hinged to the tail-board and supported by chains 67, the tail-board being held upright against stops 69. The bar 65 is normally held against the tailboard by a catch 68.
