Abstract
311,621. Bailey, C., and Lewis, R. T. Sept. 5, 1928. Charges, conveying. - Bats or shelves E, E<1> E<2> for use in firing articles of china, earthenware, &c. in kilns are arranged in tiers carried by tapering props D, which pass through holes e in the bats and are hollowed at the base in order to fit over the corresponding lower props. The holes e in the bats and the upper ends d<1> of the props D are preferably of cylindrical form. An iron bedplate A rests on an insulating bed B and is connected to it by a screw C having a conical head c and nut c<1>. The recess d in the base of the lowest prop fits over the conical nut c<1>.
