Abstract
310,467. Romane, G. April 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Pile fabrics.-An imitation fur is produced by weaving a fabric with pile threads E forming plush b and with additional threads A adapted, when the fabric is subsequently subjected to a brushing, scraping or other raising operation, to form long ends or fringes over the woven pile. The fabric may also comprise a connecting cotton weft B and cotton warps C, D, the latter fixing the threads A to the fabric. The weft and/or warp may be of hair, wool or natural or artificial silk, and may be spun with little twist. The woven pile may be in the form of loops which are opened out by the scraping operation to form short pile. Plain or speckled dyed threads may be secured to a hide, fabric or like backing by cementing.
