Ground anchors. - A triangular anchoring blade 1 is driven into the ground, in the direction of the pull that will be applied thereto subsequently, by means of a double bifurcated key 5. A cable &c. 3, connecting the blade with the article to be anchored, is attached to a rib 2 on the back of the blade, so that, after the key is removed and strain comes on the cable, the blade rotates within the ground to a position at right angles to that in which it is driven in, thereby offering maximum resistance to the pull of the cable. A group of such blades may be used, the cables attached to the ribs thereon being secured either directly to the article to be anchored or through intermediate discs 8, Fig. 7. A tensioning device may be inserted in the cable for varying its length.
