Abstract
309,596. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Compagnie Francaise pour l'Exploitation des ProcÚdÚs Thomson- Houston). April 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Coils; windings.-In inductive windings in which the turns consist of several conductors in parallel, unequal current distribution due to the individual conductors being subjected to different flux densities is avoided by proportioning the number of turns for each conductor in accordance with the flux density to which it is subjected, the conductors so positioned in the winding as to be subjected to the higher flux densities having a smaller number of turns. The Specification compares this method with the method according to which the conductors have equal numbers of turns but are transposed at intervals along the length of the winding. The invention is stated to be applicable to slot-wound machines.
