Abstract

309,090. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. April 4, 1928, [Convention date]. Titanium sulphate.-Concentrated titanyl or titanic sulphate solutions, having a low content of free sulphuric acid, are produced by introducing into a moderately heated solution of metatitanic acid in sulphuric acid, the temperature of which should not exceed 60‹ C., first meta-titanic acid until saturation is reached, and then orthotitanic acid, and concentrating the solution in vacuo. The titanic acid can be added in the solid form, or as an aqueous solution.
