Refrigerating, absorption machines for.-The outflow of vapour from the header 1 of the evaporator tubes 2 is retarded by the provision of baffles 7 or like means in the header. The tubes 2 extend into horizontal portions 3 and vertical portions 4, which rise above the level of liquid refrigerant as described in Specification 292,326. The open ends of the parts 4 are located at the end of the header remote from the return vapour pipe 6, which also serves as liquid inlet pipe during the generating period. By this means the vapour is dried before leaving the header and freezing of the pipe 6 outside the header is avoided.
