Transformers.-Two or more alternative sets of high-frequency transformers are mounted on a base which slides longitudinally on a fixed member and in its movement cuts the sets of apparatus in and out of a wireless receiving-circuit. As shown in Fig. 2, two pairs of transformers a, bare mounted in four-pin sockets a<1>, b<1> on a sliding case c. One pair is for short-wave reception, and the other for long-waves. The base c slides in channel guides d' attached to a lower panel e which is spaced from an upper panel f by pillars g. The lower ends of the sockets a<1>, b<1> are formed as concave recesses, co-operating with contact plungera k which are slidably mounted in the panel e and are pressed upwards by flat springs k<1>. There are two sets of plungers k and the transformers a, b are brought into circuit by sliding the base c sideways to bring one or other set of sockets over the plungers. The base c is moved by a handle h<2> connected to a bar h attached to the transformers a and its movement is limited by stops j.
