Gramophone pick-ups; magnetic instruments.-The vibrating armature of a gramophone pick-up or other electromagnetic vibratory device is made other than flat to increase the stiffness mass ratio and damping area, the pole pieces being shaped to correspond. The armature blade 8, Fig. 2, is of corrugated form and attached to a boss 5 pivoted about an axis 7, the pole pieces 3, 4. Fig. 3, being shaped to correspond with the armature blade. Damping pads of rubber, not shown, bear upon extensions of the armature. Specification 304,858 is referred to.
