Abstract

308,780. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. March 29, 1928, [Convention date]. Cellulose acetates.-Articles, such as films or threads, made of or containing chlorine derivatives of organic acid esters of cellulose, e.g. derivatives obtained by esterifying cellulose with derivatives of chlorine-substituted organic acids or by the process described in Specification 306,132, are dyed with basic dyestuffs. In examples (1) a film made in the usual manner from an acetone solution of equal parts of cellulose triacetate and a chlorinated derivative thereof containing 6-8 per cent of combined chlorine and (2) a thread spun in known manner from an acetone solution of 30 parts of a chlorinated cellulose triacetate containing 8 per cent of chlorine and 70 per cent of cellulose triacetate are so dyed.
