Abstract

305,829. Tonks, G. Feb. 20, 1928. Eccentric and lever-actuated pumps; stroke, varying.-The plungers 14 of a pump are actuated by eccentric rods 9 and links 10 containing curved slots which are slidably engaged by a cross-pin on the plunger rod 12. The links 10 are pivoted on levers 16, which are pivoted at one end on the driving shaft 6 and at the other end are held down by an adjustable spring 19. The levers 16 are connected by rods 22 to a ram 23a provided with a small shoulder 23<c> exposed to the delivery pressure of the pump. If this pressure varies, the levers 16 are moved by the ram, thus displacing the links 10 and varying the stroke of the plungers. Specification 308,434 is referred to
