Abstract
305,752. Tyldesley, F. Dec. 7, 1927. Clips, band.-Band clips, for securing flexible pipes to couplings, have their ends drawn in opposite directions by a wedge member, the engaging surfaces of which taper in one part for tightening the clip and are parallel to the other part to reduce the tendency of the clip to loosen. The taper may be on the outer faces of the member 13, Fig. 4, or on the inner faces of a fork member 5, Fig. 2. The ends of the clip may overlap or be spaced apart, and they may be formed by turning over the free ends to form hooks or loops or by riveted pieces. The wedge may be a slotted-tubular or C-shaped member. The gap may be filled by an integral or attached tongue which may be ribbed or corrugated to .engage a corresponding formation of the end of hooks or loops or by riveted pieces. The wedge member may have a claw end to engage the band in the locked position. The Provisional Specification states, that the wedge and clip may be corrugated transversely, and that the wedge may have one or two slots which may have closed ends.
