Abstract

305,040. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Cermak, M. A.). Jan. 28, 1928, [Convention date]. Vacuum cleaners.-Supporting and adjusting means for the rotary brush in the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner comprises at each end a pivoted support 15 capable of rotary adjustment by a lever 21 and carrying eccentrically a housing for a brush bearing 40 comprising a member 22, 23, 24 rigidly secured to the support, and a coacting member 26 pressed towards it by a spring 30. The contiguous edges of the parts 24, 26 are notched to receive vertical hinge pins 25. The housing for the brush bearings comprises a cup 39 and a screw cap 40; a felt washer 41 and retainer 42 prevents escape of lubricant.
