304,782. Utrechtsche Machinefabriek o. d. F. Smulders. Jan. 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Reciprocating-mould-table machines ; feeding. -An hydraulic press for moulding cakes or briquettes comprises a pair of coupled pressing chambers reciprocable at right angles to a pair of preliminary pressing chambers each reciprocable between a filling and pressing position and a discharge position into the main chambers, material being supplied from a common feed to the preliminary pressing chambers through a pair of oscillatory coupled measuring-chambers. As shown, material fed through a shoot 10 is transferred by coupled measuring-vessels 11, 12 alternately to preliminary pressing chambers 26, 27 wherein the material is pressed by rams 40, 41. After pressing, the cakes are transferred by rams 42, 43 to main pressing chambers 35, 36 coupled together and reciprocated by an hydraulic piston and rod 39. Following transference, the chambers 35, 36 are alternately brought into alignment with a final pressing-ram 19 co-operating with an abutment 20 and a small return piston 25. The vessels 11, 12 are carried by a forked lever 15 on a shaft 16 rocked through a lever 17 by a roller 18 engaging a slot 37 between the chambers 35, 36. A lever 30, rocked from the shaft 16 through gears 33, 32, reciprocates the chamber 26, 27 along guides 34 through links 28, 29. The pressed cakes &c. are ultimately discharged by the rams 42, 43 which may be actuated from the ram 19 through levers &c.
