303,820. Wade, H., (Standard Oil Co.). July 6, 1927. Divided on 303,841. Lubricants for fibres and machinery.-An oil composition for treating textile fibres comprises a refined distillate mineral oil of low viscosity, oleic acid, an emulsifying agent such as an alkali metal soap, a sulphonated fatty oil, or an alkali metal salt of a preferably oil-soluble sulphonic acid obtained by treating a mineral oil with sulphuric acid, and an antioxidant such as #-naphthol or diphenylamine. The composition, especially for application to rayon fibres, may comprise 12-15 per cent each of emulsifying agent and oleic acid, 2 per cent of #-naphthol, and a white distillate mineral oil of low viscosity. Specifications 8077/12 and 303,841 are referred to.
