Abstract

Bodies.-In road vehicles the body comprises a single rigid structure or a number of rigid sections, the structure or each section being rigidly fixed to the chassis upon one or two spaced transverse supports in a balanced position and between the dash and the structure or adjacent section and between adjacent sections resilient connecting means are provided to permit relative movement between the parts connected. Fig. 2 shows a body comprising sections G<1> - - G<3> each mounted on a transverse member A such that the section is balanced thereon, and between the dash and section G<1> a resilient connection C is provided and resilient connections B are provided between adjacent sections. In another form, as shown in Fig. 4, each section is mounted on spaced transverse members A. To compensate for the overhang of long rigid sections resilient supports H, Fig. 6, may be used. Fig. 7 shows the position of the supports P' - - P<3> on the transverse members.
