Crushers with vibrating jaws. - The driving shaft 1 of a stone-breaking machine in which an eccentric drives the upper end of the movable jaw is adapted to be moved to different positions to vary the space between the jaws to render the machine capable of dealing with material of different sizes. The adjustment may be made by removing a block 10 from one side of the bearing 3 to the other, the bearing being slidable in a gap 6 in the frame. Set screws or other similar means may be adapted for moving the bearing or it may be moved by eccentrics or by pivoted arms, levers or like members movable by a screw, eccentric or other convenient means. Pairs of bearings, at different distances from the stationary jaw, may be used, the driving shaft being removed from one set of bearings to the other in order to vary the distance between the jaws. The toggle lever may be fulcrumed on a transverse shaft 14, Fig. 4, mounted in the side frames 4 of the machine, the shaft being adjustable to or from the stationary jaw by the addition or removal of curved or flat packing pieces 16. The shaft is retained against the packing pieces by an adjustable hook 17. Screw or other devices may be used for moving the shaft 14, or the shaft may be mounted in bearings adjustable in or on the machine.
