Abstract

302,116. Harrison, A. D. May 8, 1928. Drying.-In a paper drying machine the steam is distributed throughout the rotary drying cylinder 15, Fig. 1, from a rigid jet-pipe 20 the water resulting from condensation being collected in and syphoned from a basin 29 forming part of a stationary scroll 27, Fig. 2, having a scoop 28 and rigidly supported by brackets 24 from the jetpipe 20 through which passes the relieving syphon 32. The trough 35 may be formed above the shaft 20, as shown in Fig. 3.
