Rollers or cylinders, hollow. - A bucket device for draining a steamheated rotary drying-cylinder a is formed integral with the end of the cylinder. The bucket has a central chamber d in line with the hollow discharge trunnion and passage h opening into the chamber d from the outer ends of the bucket, the inner ends h<1> of the passage being arranged so as to prevent water running back from the trunnion into the bucket. A central partition k is arranged across the chamber d in line with the axis of the trunnion and adjacent to the ends h<1> of the passage h. In another form the ends h<1> of these, passages extend beyond the axis of the chamber d. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 14443/92.
