Abstract

301,283. Mansell, C. A. May 30, 1928. Anchors. - A kedge anchor which may also be employed as an anchorage for fishing traps comprises a hollow body 3 preferably pyramidal in shape and closed by a weighted base 1 furnished with prongs 2. The body is filled with weighty material such as sand or gravel and is lowered by the line 9 secured to the rod 7 embedded in the base 1. When the anchor is to be raised, one side 4 of the body, which works in suitable guides, is removed by hauling on the line 6 and allows the sand &c. to escape.
