Abstract

300,111. James, H. V. Sept. 17, 1928. Addition to 279,240. Feeding webs.-In the braking-device for the supply roll of a printing-press described in the parent Specification, the motor MA for driving the braking belt is provided with a circuit 1, 2 whereby this motor may be driven independently of the generator GA driven by the press, when the press is started or is running at low speeds. The circuit 1, 2 is closed by a manually actuated switch X and is controlled by a resistance R<1> which may be automatically introduced as the speed of the press increases. The circuit may be opened when desired by operating the switch X, or by an automatic switch operated when the E, M, F of the generator GA reaches a predetermined value.
