Abstract

298,386. British Brass Fittings, Ltd., and Logan, A. Nov. 9, 1927. Heating by electricity.-A switch is detachably mounted on the end of an immersion heater secured in the wall of a tank, urn, or the like. The casing comprises a metal tube a closed at one end and secured at the other end to a. screwed member b arranged below a cylindrical housing c. The wall of the tank is gripped between the underside of the housing c and a nut d. An earth terminal may be fitted to the housing. A detachable plate f secured to the housing c by screws g is also secured at its centre to the heating elements which are a sliding fit in the casing a. Bus-bars j having integral sockets m for receiving plugs on a three heat switch p are resiliently mounted on the plate f by means of bolts and spring washers k. The supply leads enter through a socket e integral with housing c. A cover g is provided for the switch.
