Abstract

298,278. Campbell, R. H., and Sparklets, Ltd.. July 11, 1927. Flanging.-Metal containers for storing gases and liquids under pressure are formed with a thick neck which is weakened by forming a groove 3 on its exterior. Pressure is then applied to the end of the neck, as by a plunger 5, to cause the weak part to turn inwards and form a shoulder 6 to seat the closure member. Specification 3385/09 and 22337/09 are referred to.
