Boots and shoes, measuring for.-The shoe forms for fitting shoes and testing lasts described in the parent. Specification are provided with rigid heels secured thereto so that the form of the foot when supporting the weight of the body may be observed. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the form comprises toe and shank portions 1, 3, respectively, of resilient transparent material, such as celluloid, the shank member 3 extending rearwardly in conformity with the arch of the foot to the upper surface of a rigid heel 4 to which it is joined. A counter 5 surmounts the heel, the forward ends of its side walls 6, 7 being inturned at the bottom. The inturned edges may be covered by an inner sole or by the end of the sole or shank member. Fig. 3 shows a shoe form wherein the side walls 6<1>, 7<1> of the counter 5 are formed from a sheet which extends across the bottom and forwardly to the toes, the heel at the rear end being closed by overlapping flaps 11, 12. The form may also be provided with a whole sole 13, Fig. 6, which may be of leather and grooved at 14 to render it flexible and provided with a heel 4<1>.
