Abstract

297,274. Kenyon, C. Jan. 30, 1928. Overshoes. - The upper of a flexible rubber overshoe is made from a pattern sheet of the shape shown in Fig. 6, the intermediate wing portions 16, 17, being bent inwards and overlapped to reinforce the arch portion, as shown in Fig. 3. The parts 10 of the pattern sheet adjacent the opening 10<b>, which is preferably tapered form the sides of the upper, the ends 20 being cemented together at the heel portion. Inner and outer soles 11, 12 extending into the arch portion are connected to the upper by rubber strips 15, 13 respectively, the latter being a continuation of the outer sole 12. A reinforcing strip 14 is provided at the toe, and strips 18, 19 for a similar portion around the top and bottom openings of the upper.
