Abstract

Aug. 6, 1927, Suspending cables and conductors.-Relates to the method of suspending the live wires of an electric railway in which the live wires f, and the longitudinal supporting-cables e, are carried by a transverse cable b which is slung between posts a on opposite sides of the track. The lateral pull of the live wires and their supports is taken up by horizontal, tensioned, cross cables c, d. According to the invention, a third cross cable m is arranged between and parallel with the cables c, d and it is secured to the posts and to the suspension supports h. If either of the cables c, d should break, the cable m takes up its load and prevents displacement of the live wire.
