296,437. Budd Manufacturing Co., E. G., (Assignees of Ledwinka, J.). Sept. 1, 1927, [Convention date]. Bodies of, composite road vehicles comprise a one-piece stamping of sheet metal to form the outer side panelling of the body and arranged to embrace a main wooden framing, the stamping forming and defining the closure opening or openings of the body. As shown a one-piece stamping 1 is formed at the front post with a door jamb 6, 7, 8 and rabbet 5 to take the wind shield header, the middle post is formed with rabbets 10, 11 and the rear post with a jamb 12 to accommodate the doors. The front and rear posts embrace the wooden frame posts 24 which may be omitted at the intermediate post, a cover panel 25 being provided. The rear post may connect to the tonneau panelling 13 if a separate stamping is employed. The stamping at the sill 23 and header 18 is also formed to accommodate the doors as shown in Figs, 3 and 4.
